Migrating data from another system

Settings → Migration is a self-serve workspace for bringing your data into Clerkly from CSV exports (including exports from other practice management systems).

How a migration runs

1. Upload your CSV files — contacts, matters, notes and more.
2. Map and validate — Clerkly checks each file against the expected schema and reports problems row by row before anything is written.
3. Dry run — a full rehearsal that verifies every row would import cleanly, without writing anything.
4. Import — the real run, with counts for every record created.

Rollback

For 14 days after an import, you can roll it back completely — every record the migration created is removed. After that window the data becomes permanent.

Tips

Export the cleanest data you can from your old system, and run the dry run until it's error-free before the real import.
