Leads, intake and non-engagement letters

Every inquiry starts as a lead. Your public intake page (/intake/your-firm-id) feeds leads directly into the Leads inbox.

The lead workflow

  1. Conflict check — run a deterministic conflict search before any substantive work. Clerkly scores matches against contacts, parties and walled cases you can see; the AI never decides a conflict.
  2. Triage — assign the lead, add notes, and track follow-ups.
  3. Convert or decline — converting creates the case and parties in one step. Declining prompts you to send a non-engagement letter.

Non-engagement letters

Declined leads should always receive a non-engagement letter. Choose an approved template, preview it, and send by email or print for mailing. If you decline without sending, you must record a reason. Letters never state a computed deadline date — the deadline warning language comes from your approved template.
