Contacts and case parties

Contacts is your firm's shared address book: clients, providers, adjusters, attorneys, insurers, courts and anyone else. A contact exists once and is linked to cases as a party with a role (client, defendant, treating provider, lienholder…).

Why one contact book matters

Because each person exists once, Clerkly can answer "have we ever dealt with this person?" across the whole firm — that's what powers conflict checks and the relationship graph on each contact page.

Nicknames and aliases

Contacts can carry nicknames and aliases ("Bill" for "William"), and conflict matching resolves them, so a nickname in an intake form still matches the full name on an old case.

Editing

Keep phone numbers, emails and addresses current on the contact — cases read from the contact, so one update fixes it everywhere.
