Running conflict checks

Running conflict checks
Run a conflict check before any substantive work on a lead or case — from the lead page, or firm-wide from Conflicts.
How matching works
Matching is deterministic, never AI-decided. Clerkly gathers candidates from contacts, parties, related companies and prior leads — respecting ethical walls, so a walled case never leaks into results — then scores each candidate on name, nickname, date of birth, phone, email and address matches.
Reading results
Each result shows the score and exactly which fields matched, so you can see why something surfaced. Results are saved with the check, creating an auditable record that the check ran, who ran it, and what it found.
If there's a hit
Open the matching contact or case, review the relationship, and document your decision on the lead. If your firm needs an ethical wall, set it up before proceeding — walled cases disappear from search, conflicts and lists for everyone not on the wall.
