Cases, deadlines and the statute of limitations
When you open a case, Clerkly computes the statute of limitations from the incident date, the state, and the case type, using the rule set for California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona — including court holidays and weekend adjustments.
Where deadlines live
- Deadlines lists every deadline across your firm's cases, filterable by case, owner and date range.
- Each case page shows its own timeline and deadline list.
- Deadline rules can be reviewed under Settings, and platform-wide rules are published for attorney review.
Confirming a deadline
Deadlines that a human has reviewed are marked confirmed. The Clerk will keep reminding you about unconfirmed critical deadlines — confirming them is how you tell Clerkly a person has taken responsibility.
Ethical walls
If your firm uses ethical walls, walled-off cases are hidden everywhere — including search, conflicts and deadline lists — for everyone not on the wall.
